Cynthia Ann Herron was born March 8, 1950 in Munsey, PA. She was the daughter of Jay and Dorothy (Harman) Wright.
Cindy graduated from Scranton High School in 1968. On October 8, 1972, Cindy was united in marriage to Harold Herron at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Cindy and Harold were the parents of a daughter, Jill.
The family lived in Jefferson, then moved to Grand Junction in 1978. They moved back to Jefferson in 2000. Cindy owned The Treasure Chest, located on the east side of the courthouse square. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, and she was a worker for the Greene County Medical Center auxiliary.
Cindy loved attending flea markets and camping. She enjoyed playing Bingo and working word search puzzles. She collected Coca Cola and M & M’s memorabilia. Cindy loved going to all the grandkids’ events.
Cindy died Feb. 14, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was 65 years of age. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Harold, who died in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter: Jill (Erick) Johnson of Jefferson, IA; grandchildren Skylar Johnson, Mickayla Johnson, and Shelby Johnson; brothers Larry (Diane) Wright Sr of Pine River, MN, and Terry Wright of St. Petersburg, FL; nieces and nephews and other relatives; and friends.
